Influences

My life bagan as a classical pianist & singer in choirs & so my strongest influences start there. I have written poetry since I was about 7 years old....EE Cummings, Roger McGough would be strong influences in that area. In music? Bach, Rickie Lee Jones, Astrid Gilberto, Lhasa, Tom Waits, Nathalie Merchant, Holly Cole, Ron Sexsmith......where does it stop?, |

Because my musical influences are so broad my song writing can be quite ecclectic. Now there's a section they ought to add to their pigeon holes. That's where I belong
Because I like to work with Jazz musicians they tend to bring that influence into my music & it has ended up being categorised as such. So now by default, I am a jazz singer
