Style
My music sounds a bit like Bjork and John Linnell (from They Might Be Giants) had a baby, but it got orphaned and was raised by Tool. Technically speaking, the songs are composed with computer software, and often are loop-based. Some of them are instrumental, while others have lyrics. In those with lyrics, the words are delivered in a half-sung, half-spoken style.
Content
People usually describe my songs as "unique" or "weird". But, in my mind, I'm just making music the way music is supposed to be made. I like to play around with unusual scales, time signatures and song layouts. When I write lyrics, they tend to have a somewhat hard or ironic edge to them.
Motivation
Generally speaking, when I make a song, I'm making it for myself. See, music is much more than just entertainment for me: it's a means of implanting thoughts and ideas directly into my mind. So, if there's something I need to understand, or some new direction in which I'd like to start taking my life, then I'll sit down and write myself a little "program", which I'll absorb directly into my subconscious by listening to the song over and over and over again. If you find that these programs are useful or simply enjoyable for you as well, then...
Take Reconsiderate home with You
Here at Music Forte, you can purchase my songs for $0.99 each. At Sound Click, you can download them for free.
Now, why on Earth would I set up a pay-only site when all the songs are available for free elsewhere? Well, that's a good question. The answer is that I'm giving you a choice.
To be perfectly honest, the money doesn't matter to me all that much. So if you feel like a pay-only download is a barrier between you and the songs, then I'm happy to remove that barrier. After all, I want you to have my music. I'm more like a street musician than a business executive, so picture me that way. I'm just out here, on the corner of Internet Ave and WWW Blvd, doing my thing. La de do de dum da.
If, after downloading and listening to my songs, you feel like you want to show me some support, then you can drop some money into my "guitar case" by coming back and purchasing some of the songs that you don't already have. Or, even more easily, you can drop some money into my virtual tip jar (via Pay Pal).
You don't have to give anything at all, but, if you do choose to give something, then whatever you give will be much appreciated. :o)
Regardless of which option you decide is best for you, I hope you enjoy my music as much as I do, which is a lot. ;o) And, of course, I encourage you to share the songs freely with your family and friends.
"Reconsiderate's music is as original gets, and a lot of people need to hear it!"
People find it surprising when I tell them that I don't experience love. But it's true. In fact, I almost never feel much of a connection at all with other people.
For me, life is a pretty solitary experience. If I could, I'd like to spend all my time just sitting around doing the things I want to do, which, in no particular order, might include, among other things:
--playing video games
--reading graphic novels
--listening to music
--working on music
--writing (journals, essays, poetry)
--thinking about stuff
Though I do enjoy the company of other people occasionally. For example, I like spending time with my girlfriend. We go out to see shows together or just walk around or stay in and play games or just talk. And there are some things I enjoy doing that require other people, such as martial arts. (I practice Aikido and Karate 3 - 4 nights per week.)
Generally speaking, I feel crowded by people. They do things I don't understand, and typically don't understand why I do the things I do. This summary isn't absolute; there are indeed some people out there who I've met and feel like they really "get it". But, for the most part, it feels like I got dropped off on the wrong planet. Or I emigrated to another country without having taken any time to learn the culture or the language. So I tend to prefer being alone in my personal space.
I do like online conversations, though: email, chats, forums and et cetera. So feel free to drop me a line if you like. :o)
