BIOGRAPHY:
Led by Chris Cargill on piano and vocals RTS explores the sounds of alternative pop, classical, rock, and world beat stylings featuring the dynamic percussion of Christo Pellani chosen as one of 10 outstanding drummers for BAM Magazine's November 1994 feature article on "Unsung Drumming Heroes of LA."
The music is passionate and multi-dimensional. Far from being pressured into studying music RTS' front woman and composer Chris, insisted on piano lessons at the age of 3 while her legs were still too short to reach the pedals. Chris fronted another band in college ELYN, along with songwriting partner Joy de Guzman which released its full-length debut album "The Fallen Ones", in 1999. Several tracks from the album have been utilized in film soundtracks including "Hunger" and "Judgment Day" (in the independent feature film "Accidents Don't Happen" aka "Rubbernecking") and "Spider" (in the Internet soundtrack for "Blair Witch II: Book of Shadows").
Riddle the Sphinx was formed at the end of 2002. Since then the band has enjoyed many live performances and has built a dedicated fan base throughout Orange County and Los Angeles. RTS is very active in community and charity work most recently helping raise money to provide drum circle programs to at-risk children at Orangewood Children's Home. The band is currently in the studio finalizing its highly anticipated release "Vagabond". Look for it in stores in mid-2005.
