Simone Awhina is an international concert & recording vocalist. Simone brings innovation into the world of pop music with contemporary songs that are filled with inspiration encouragement and joy. Many people have been touched by her beautiful warm voice and radiant presence and have been inspired by her life story and positive outlook on life.
In August 2006 Simone represented her country again at the World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood where she won a bronze medal in the Broadway category; a silver medal in the Contemporary category; and a gold medal for Song and Dance.
Full-bodied and powerful her voice proclaims a presence at once calming yet uplifting. Her special musical gift comes through with a wondrous generosity that touches deeply into the hearts.
With a combined style reminiscent of Celine Dion Barbara Streisand and Enya Simone’s vocals range from soothing ballads to more upbeat modern pop songs.
Since her debut Simone has performed concerts and sound healing workshops worldwide. In addition to being featured on TV and radio shows in the Netherlands and United States Simone has had the privilege to perform with noted musicians Ken Fitzgerald (base player for Frank Sinatra) Dan Miller (trumpet virtuoso who toured with Harry Connick Jr. for 12 years) Nicky Parrott (base player of Les Pauls) and Paul Ventura (a vocalist who worked with Tony Bennett Milton Berle, Jerry Lester and other celebrities). She has also performed at Rotary functions corporate events and has offered her musical talent to benefit concerts in Community Hospices.
Simone is currently studying with leading vocal coach Mr. William Riley whose clientele includes famous artists such as Celine Dion Faith Hill and Sarah Brightman.
Simone’s unique and inspiring vocals have touched the lives of many people whether it’s in a concert workshop, or motivational lecture. Her goal is to bring joy inspiration, and peace to her audience through her music and sound.
Simone will tour extensively in the U.S. the Netherlands, and Brazil throughout 2007. She currently spends most of her time in Sedona Arizona, and the Netherlands.
