Hey Guys, I have just finished my uni course a BA majoring in music and communications studies. Now maybe I can get back to writing songs learning more about music and playing the piano better.
I am in the process of writing a series of books on learning music and how to play guitar keyboards and bass. The BA will help promote these more.
The internet is such a great place to learn about music and now you can record your music and promote it on the net .That is why Music Forte is so good. I spend a lot of time just looking and learning at the moment but I am adding more all the time.

| Movies
|
most of the old ones that aren't available in the video stores.
"Farewell my lovely" "Gumshoe" "Hatari" "Orca" and older comedy movies like "Its a mad mad mad world" and the "Trinity" series.
|
| Television
|
don't watch much but like a good comedy a good movie and the football ( aussie rules ) in winter and replays of the football ( aussie rules ) in summer.
|
| Hobbies
|
music, watching aussie rules football and writing. learning from the Internet about anything worth while especially music and following the development of Aussie Rules overseas. The AFL should be doing more to promote the game in places like Germany and Denmark where there is a growing love of the game.

Music needs to be taught with a more grass-roots level approach. Many indigenous peoples learn music as a natural occurance. Music, even from a western culture veiwpoint, is actually very simple, yet the way it is taught sometimes a beginner would think he needed a degree just to start. I didn't start learning music till I was 18 because I thought you HAD to go to uni to become a musician, how wrong I was, but I wish I had found out how wrong I was at least 6 years earlier. You don't need to go to uni to learn enough about music to enjoy playing. Anyone can learn the language of music.
Start now, learn a new language, the language of music, and play for fun or to become a professional.

A prolific songwriter since the age of 12 my musical interests formed in the creative sixties and my songs have always kept a very good basic contemporary mould. First introduced to music theory at 18 I did not play my first instruments till 19 ( Bass and Sax ) and have painted and built houses all my life. But amongst the day to day life of the tradesman I continued to learn about music and write and the music behind the songs until then locked away in my head started to be revealed.
Since that time I have learnt to put my songs to music writing in manuscript form the Melody Lines Bass Lines and also Chord and Harmony arrangements.
I entered the studio for the first time in 1981 to record a demo tape of 6 songs. Although there was some interest in the songs from the music industry and one song almost got onto a local Brisbane major radio stations’ collection of ‘home grown’ local original artists nothing transpired from the venture except valuable experience and some instrumental tracks that are still worth listening to. To listen to the EP "Pioneer" visit www.stacpoolemusic.ws/pioneer.html.
With the progress made in technology and a few trips to the recording studio since I am in the process of recording and producing a number of albums and cds for release. I now have a collection of close to 150 songs listed to work on and I am planning and working on the next 6 albums of material on my home studio ready to take them further in the recording studio where some work has already been done. You can listen to the progress of some of the recordings at www.stacpoolemusic.ws/songsamps.html
I am currently going to university to gain a Bachelor of Arts for Music and writing a series of books teaching music. I am recording some of the original songs used in the books and so am also using the recordings primarily for two other projects. One is a two cd set comprising a 15 song acoustic guitar and vocals cd and the re-mix of an album first recorded in 1991. The second project is an EP of 6 country rock songs.
My music has very solid musical structure and great lyrics which could be played by anyone from the Frank Sinatra type to U2 or Jimmy Barnes. I am REALLY INTERESTED in having someone else sing my songs. They are anything from softer almost folk ballads to a number of 'head-banging' rock songs from country rock to that influenced by jazz reggae and the blues.
Anyone who wants to review my song list is welcome to contact me for more info or listen to more samples of my music at www.stacpoolemusic.com
