Alibi RankZ
In a business surrounded by money greed and jealousy, one mind can rise above and etch his signature in the ever so changing game the music industry. Alibi RankZ a native of Houston is perfecting his craft and working independently to write produce, and promote his music. His goal? To be a key part of a movement which promotes honor and motivation. A movement used to eliminate the stereotype and instill the art that is the life behind Hip Hop. Born on the southwest part of Houston in the Alief school district Alibi RankZ has taken his music to a level of its own. With his “in your face” rhyme style and his heart pounding lyrics Alibi RankZ has been able to stand apart from the rest. As fulltime banker and father of three he has made the time to create a sound that is labeled both underground and experimental. With the help of Street 2 DreamZ ProductionZ his independent production label they are making a buzz around the Houston area.
Performing at various nightclubs Alibi RankZ has expanded his music to all areas of Houston. March ’07 opened his promotional tour with a chance to perform at a lucrative nightspot. “The Vault” Houston was set. This provided Alibi RankZ with 3 showcases on 3 different nights to be held in the same month. The performances drew an average 60 to 70 people each night. The 3-showcase event was part of a separate deal to promote his first major gig.
On April 29th at Barrio Nightclub in Houston Alibi RankZ was set to open for Devin The Dude an established local sensation. The draw for the night was close to 1500 people including A&R execs from Sony So So Def, Rap a Lot, Def Jam, etc. The crowd’s reaction opened the eyes of the host of the night MC Wickett Crickett. He immediately approached Alibi RankZ offering to keep him informed on every showcase going on around town his calls came almost instantly.
May 29th at “The Bella Aida Garden” in Houston was the next. Alibi RankZ was set to compete in an underground Grammy showcase promoted by Cleanup Woman productions. Some feature names included Jay South Producer for Crime MOB Capitol Records, and Wonderous. The draw for the night was estimated at over 1000 people. The calls continued.
May 31st teamed with “UrbanZone” in Houston Alibi RankZ was set to perform at “The Vault” once again. The event showcased the elite talent in Houston. The event drew close to 200people. Dwan Banks a promoter from Richmond Texas provided a stage June 12th at Seguin park in Richmond TX. The names in attendance were Big Bank Hank, Poppa Joe and Box from Algierz clothing and DJ Rhemarkable & Deleon. The event drew approximately 1000.
His next venue Club “Grill” a south Houston nightclub gave Alibi RankZ an opening for Billy Cook hosted by Wickett Crickett. The draw was close to 150. His performance at “Planeta Roja” nightclub hosted by DJ Cue and Wickett Crickett exposed Alibi RankZ as the “best lyrical act” for the night. “Venue Houston” a downtown nightclub, August 21st was the best to date showcase offered. This show which was hosted by Michael “5000” Watts of Swisha house and DJ J Que of 97.9 the Boxx gave Alibi RankZ a chance to leave a mark on many individuals with major influence in the area. With a draw of approximately 300 people 124 of those were there to see Alibi RankZ. His efforts continued into the 2008 year in which he was selected to be a showcase act at the "1st Annual Source Magazine Unsigned Hype Tour" on June 18th in Kemah Texas.
As the effort continues you can see there is a drive that is demising in the industry. With a motivation provided by his family and loved ones Alibi RankZ will continue to make his dreams come true. With the near completion of his untitled debut album and his growing connections with the majors in the industry Alibi RankZ has established a summer of ’08 released date.
