Influences:

Various Artists from the '40s through the '60s. Mostly the '50s & '60's Soul Greats... primarily Wilson Pickett, but I've been influenced by the likes of Elvis (the first) and other great Rock 'n' Rollers, The Isley Brothers, Jackie Wilson, James Brown, Ben E. King, Chuck Jackson (and many of the great Soul Shouters of the '50s & '60s), the Blue-Eyed Soul Brothers of the '60s such as The Righteous Brothers and more. The Beatles hit me a pretty good lick and then came Jimi Hendrix!!! I'm older than dirt so I've seen and heard many of the greats. The cool thing about The Rev! has been having the ability to shape his influences into a voice of his (my) own.

Lots & Lots & Lots & LOTS!!! Check out the '50s Black & White Classic starring Robert Mitchum: "THUNDER ROAD". He even sings the theme song... DUDE!!!

Television:

Pretty much stopped watching broadcast and cable television in 2002. I do indulge in PBS, some specials or special reports. I watch some "Christian Television". There's a lot of inane garbage even there and SOME people just shouldn't be on TV and expose whomever may tune in intentionally or unintentionally, to their absurd behavior... not to mention costume and make-up choices. Just because you have a gazilloin dollars doesn't mean you are supposed to be on intergalactic broadcasts. (I think God would have them use it more wisely as good stewards of that with which He has blessed them.) There are, however, those with whom God is well pleased and, though I am a True Believer and Follower of Christ, I am aware that He is not always pleased with my life, yet, and this is the important part, He Loves me. You notice I didn't say "still Loves me". Why you ask? He has, does and ALWAYS WILL Love me. God is ALL about Love, Forgiveness and Serving our neighbors. I could go on forever but I won't. I will say this: All YOU really DO need... is Love. Check it out for yourself: Mark 12:28-31
