Influences. Hmmm...I still remember trying to imitate every nuance of Barbra Streisand's "Superman" or Karen Carpenter (just about everything she sang). As I got older I realized it was okay just to sound like me. But in terms of writing and just general artistry, my biggest influences are/have been/ Joni Mitchell, Paula Cole, Dianne Reeves, and among the guys, David Wilcox, James Taylor, and Sting., |

I love listening to and playing music with friends. Every year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we have our official Thanksgiving party for friends and family.Since many of our friends are musicians, we have a big jam after supper and it's always a lot of fun.

We have eclectic tastes in our house -- everything from country western to classical to New Age to World to jazz some heavy metal (somewhere). Can't say I'm into rap or hip hop although I've heard some bands that I liked. I tend to lean toward singer-songwriter stuff. A well-crafted lyric makes my day. But I enjoy songs that are just plain nonsense that are fun to move to, as well. , |
