With the help of cutting-edge producers Anthony Resta (Elton John) and Scott Jacoby (John Legend), the pop music is hook-filled and radio-friendly. The production in the classical and opera arias emphasizes the natural rhythms and hooks in these songs while still remaining true to their original style. It's a little like the Moody Blues "Days of Future Passed" album. Which brings me to my musical influences. I grew up in New York listening to '80's pop (and haunting movie soundtracks). I planned on becoming a pop singer and songwriter. But when I was ten years old my school music teacher told me I should study opera singing. I barely knew what that was. However, I soon discovered how haunting, beautiful, and hook-filled classical music can be. So I studied opera at Indiana University School of Music (a top conservatory) and now I sing opera professionally in New York City alongside finalists from the Metropolitan Opera's National Council auditions. I also sang on an opera tour of Greece with Sherrill Milnes conducting. But I always dreamed of finding a way to combine pop and classical music. This album is the realization of that dream.
