Iwar Arssejew, born in 1937 in Moscow, studies the piano with G. Ginsburg and composition with A. Alexandrow at the conservatory there. He has composed orchestral works, ballets, musical and chamber music, but above all he writes light music for children. In 1994 he was awarded the Jan Frenkel Prize for his compositions for children.
