I would not say I’m naive when it comes to trends and fads. I’ve played with hoola hoops. I’ve worn bellbottoms. I’ve had a mullet-cut and I’ve used twitter (not at the same time).
Yet even with the entire world "tweeting", it begs the question, "What for?" Perhaps it is a careful blend of obsessions. Every time I get an email reminder that it’s time for me to "tweet", the drool starts falling from my mouth, my vision blurs, and I stop what I’m doing to tell the world what I just stopped doing.
But maybe there is more to it. Maybe Twitter provides the best way of choosing how close you want to be to any news source without the use of reporters. With no particular planning, here are the first 5 immediate artist tweets I happened to find.
Britney Spears: New leg, new song, new outfits, new do…. -Brit
P. Diddy: 2 cheeseburgers. Fries. Apple pie. I need cheeseburger rehab. Lol:)
Lady GaGa: whoever stole my much music outfit, the haus curses you with a future of fashion travesties….i miss & love my fans. see u soon in paris.
Miley Cyrus: Eating butterscotch pie
yum
AC/DC: No significant news today, other then its been ONE FULL YEAR of TWEETS today 6/26 … 10,444 followers 354 updates as of right now.
So what have we learned aside from what people wear and eat? Is that the billion dollar news that even Google couldn’t afford to purchase?
If it doesn’t make complete sense to you either, you may as well laugh about it. Take a look at Conan O’Briens video sketch.
If you do find something of significance worth following, let me know! I’m on Twitter @ musicforte

Hi Amanda, I meant to reply weeks ago. There was a problem with an outdated version of Intense Debate that we were using for our comments.
Thank you for bringing that to our attention.
